The Architectural Design Engineer is responsible for creating, developing, and reviewing architectural designs and plans for various projects, ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and safety requirements. The role involves close coordination with clients, engineers, and contractors to deliver high-quality and innovative design solutions from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed architectural designs, plans, and layouts in compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulations.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project goals, requirements, and budget constraints.
- Prepare concept designs, 3D visualizations, and presentation materials.
- Use design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other BIM tools to produce precise and efficient drawings.
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and design changes.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, verify compliance with design, and address technical issues.
- Research new materials, technologies, and sustainable design practices to enhance project quality and efficiency.
- Ensure all designs meet local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental considerations.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience (3–7 years) in architectural design within construction or engineering firms.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design software.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent creativity, visualization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
