The Operations Manager at a plastic manufacturing facility is responsible for overseeing day-to-day production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves coordinating production activities, managing resources, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement to meet the factory’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Ensure that products are manufactured to quality standards and specifications.
- Manage production teams, supervisors, and maintenance staff to achieve operational targets.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
- Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies in compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and delivery of finished products.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality rates, and operational costs.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices.
- Ensure compliance with ISO or other relevant quality management systems.
- Develop training programs to enhance the skills and performance of factory staff.
- Liaise with senior management on operational strategy, budgets, and capital investment needs.
Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field.
have 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in the plastic industry.
Strong knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, etc.).
Experience in process optimization and Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and MS Office applications.
