Resident Site Engineer – Port Said

Job Purpose

The Resident Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and monitoring the execution of construction and infrastructure works at the project site in Port Said. The role ensures that all works are performed according to approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards while coordinating between contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to achieve timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Technical Oversight

Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities including yards, utilities, and building works.

Ensure compliance of contractors’ work with approved drawings, technical specifications, safety regulations, and project schedules.

Conduct daily inspections and maintain a proactive presence on site to address issues and ensure quality execution.

2. Quality Assurance & Control

Implement and monitor quality control procedures in line with contractual and company requirements.

Identify non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are taken in coordination with contractors and consultants.

Review materials, construction methods, and workmanship to ensure adherence to project standards.

3. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare and maintain detailed daily and weekly site reports, including progress updates, safety observations, and technical remarks.

Verify and review contractors’ submittals, work progress, and payment certificates prior to management approval.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, design changes, and correspondence with all project stakeholders.

4. Coordination & Communication

Liaise continuously with design teams, the project management office, and the consulting engineer to resolve design or execution conflicts.

Participate in progress meetings and provide input on technical and scheduling matters.

Support the Project Manager in assessing variations, claims, and project risk factors.

5. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

Promote and enforce adherence to HSE policies and site safety procedures.

Report unsafe conditions or practices immediately and ensure corrective measures are implemented.


Education:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture from a recognized university.Experience:Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in site supervision, preferably in infrastructure, ports, or large-scale construction projects.Proven experience managing contractors and consultants on complex, multidisciplinary projects.Technical Skills:Strong command of AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel (additional MS Project or Primavera knowledge is an asset).Excellent understanding of construction drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.Knowledge of quality control procedures, materials testing, and contract administration.Soft Skills:Strong leadership and decision-making abilities in field environments.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with cross-functional teams.High analytical skills and attention to detail in reviewing contractor documentation.Strong time-management and problem-solving capabilities under tight deadlines.Language:Excellent command of both English and Arabic (written and spoken).Work ConditionsThe position is based full-time on site in Port Said.Requires flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed during critical project phases.Field work may involve exposure to construction noise, dust, and outdoor conditions.
