Role Overview
- We are looking for a Backend Engineer with solid Laravel expertise and a proactive mindset. You will own the backend development of our medical platform, including designing APIs, integrating PACS systems (Orthanc or similar), and ensuring secure, high-performance data handling.
- This is not a “task-only” role — we’re looking for someone who plans, explores, and drives backend solutions independently, and can integrate new technologies when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead backend development using Laravel (API, authentication, user management, image workflows, report management).
- Study and integrate PACS systems (e.g., Orthanc, DCM4CHEE) into the application.
- Work closely with the frontend team to deliver well-structured APIs.
- Build secure and optimized data pipelines for storing and retrieving medical data.
- Integrate backend services with AI endpoints.
- Plan and document backend architecture decisions, not just implement tasks.
- Ensure system scalability, data integrity, and compliance with healthcare data standards (HIPAA/GDPR).
- Investigate and evaluate new technologies to improve performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate with the CTO for strategic architecture planning and technical direction.

We’re seeking a Mid–Senior Backend Engineer who can:
- Own Laravel backend development.
- Integrate Orthanc/PACS and AI systems.
- Proactively plan, investigate, and lead backend solutions.

Requirements 3–5+ years of backend development experience.Strong experience in Laravel (PHP 8+), REST API design, and modern backend architecture.Experience integrating third-party services or systems (especially medical or imaging).Understanding database design (MySQL) and caching.Experience with Docker and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Ability to research and learn new technologies independently (e.g., Orthanc API, DICOM standards).Strong communication and planning skills, able to translate ideas into executable technical plans.Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern dev workflows. Nice-to-Have Experience with PACS / RIS / DICOM / Orthanc / DCM4CHEE integration.Familiarity with Python (to understand or extend AI microservices).Exposure to HL7/FHIR healthcare data standards.Knowledge of medical data security and compliance (HIPAA, GDPR).Prior experience in AI or medical software projects.
