Maintenance & Repair:

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in heavy machinery.
• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on all equipment.
• Oversee major repairs, engine overhauls, and component replacements.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with OEM standards and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs.

2. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling:

• Develop and implement maintenance plans based on usage hours and operating conditions.
• Schedule regular inspections and servicing to minimize breakdowns.
• Monitor equipment health using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with operations to minimize equipment downtime.

3. Spare Parts & Inventory Management:

• Identify required spare parts, tools, and consumables for maintenance tasks.
• Work with the procurement department to ensure timely availability of parts.
• Manage the inventory of critical spares and ensure cost-effective usage.

4. Technical Supervision & Training:

• Supervise maintenance technicians and mechanics during servicing and repairs.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance procedures.
• Evaluate maintenance team performance and identify skill improvement areas.

5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

• Track equipment performance, fuel consumption, and repair costs.
• Prepare maintenance reports, failure analyses, and improvement recommendations.
• Collaborate with the operations and engineering teams to enhance machine reliability.

6. Safety & Compliance:

• Enforce HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies during maintenance activities.
• Conduct risk assessments before starting major repair jobs.
• Ensure proper use of PPE, tools, and lifting equipment.

Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.

Minimum 5–10 years of experience in maintenance of heavy construction or mining equipment.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and transmission systems.

Experience with equipment such as CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, or Liebherr.

Proficiency in reading technical manuals, hydraulic/electrical schematics.

Familiarity with CMMS software and maintenance scheduling tools.

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.

Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.
