Export Logistics Specialist

The Export Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating international shipments to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant export processes. This role involves preparing documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating with freight forwarders and customs agents, and maintaining strong communication with internal departments and overseas customers. The Export Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the company’s global trade operations and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Export Operations:

Process and manage international orders and shipments from order receipt to delivery.

Prepare and verify export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading.

Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure smooth and timely shipments.

2. Compliance and Regulations:

Ensure all exports comply with international trade laws, customs regulations, and destination country requirements.

Stay updated on changes to export regulations (e.g., sanctions, dual-use goods) and apply them as needed.

Ensure accurate application of INCOTERMS and proper product classification (HS codes, ECCN, etc.).

3. Coordination and Communication:

Communicate with internal departments (sales, logistics, finance) and external partners (customers, freight agents) to manage shipments and resolve issues.

Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery.

Provide regular updates on shipping status and handle inquiries or complaints from customers.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain organized records of all export transactions and documentation.

Prepare and submit reports on export activities, costs, delivery timelines, and compliance metrics.

Support audits and internal reviews with accurate documentation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

2–5 years of experience in export or international logistics.

Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, INCOTERMS, and customs documentation.

Experience working with ERP and logistics systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of experience in export logistics or international logistics.Knowledge:Strong understanding of international trade regulations and documentation requirements.Familiarity with INCOTERMS, customs procedures, and freight forwarding.Skills:Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.Very Good in English (additional languages are a plus).
