Quality Manager - Agri industry

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced quality manager with a strong background in the agricultural industry to oversee and enhance quality assurance, food safety, and compliance across all operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives in line with industry standards. This role requires expertise in quality control, auditing, and agricultural product certification to maintain the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Control:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality management systems (QMS) specific to the agri industry.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, HACCP, GMP, and other food safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Oversee testing, sampling, and laboratory analysis of agricultural products.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure consistent quality throughout the supply chain.

Regulatory Compliance & Certification:

  • Ensure compliance with national and international agricultural safety regulations.
  • Manage the process for certifications (Organic, GlobalGAP, ISO, HACCP, etc.).
  • Stay updated on emerging industry regulations and ensure company adaptation.

Supplier & Raw Material Quality Management:

  • Establish quality control procedures for incoming raw materials and ingredients.
  • Work closely with suppliers and farmers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Implement traceability systems to monitor raw material sourcing and sustainability.

Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies to reduce waste and defects.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify areas for process enhancements.

Team Leadership & Training:

  • Supervise and train quality assurance teams on best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness and responsibility across all departments.
  • Conduct workshops and training programs to enhance quality control knowledge.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work with R&D and product development teams to enhance product quality.
  • Align with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure proper handling and storage.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service to address quality-related concerns.

Technology & ERP Integration:

  • Implement and manage quality management software and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Leverage data analytics and digital tools to improve quality tracking and reporting.

Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Quality Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in quality management in the agri or food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and other food safety standards.
  • Experience in certification processes (Organic, GlobalGAP, BRC, etc.).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) for quality monitoring and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
