The Civil Projects Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple civil construction projects from initiation to completion. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards. The Civil Projects Manager coordinates with stakeholders, manages project teams, and optimizes resources to ensure the successful execution of civil infrastructure, commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
Project Planning & Management:
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for multiple civil construction projects.
- Establish project objectives and ensure alignment with company goals and client expectations.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Construction Execution & Quality Assurance:
- Oversee all phases of construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulations.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to schedules.
- Ensure all materials and construction activities meet industry standards and project requirements.
- Resolve technical and operational challenges in collaboration with engineers and site teams.
Stakeholder Coordination & Communication:
- Act as the main point of contact between clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Facilitate meetings with project teams and stakeholders to ensure clear communication.
- Prepare and present project reports, progress updates, and financial summaries to senior management.
- Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to optimize project efficiency.
Financial & Resource Management:
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, materials, and equipment, for cost-effective execution.
- Approve procurement requests and coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in project execution.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
- Enforce site safety protocols and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to minimize workplace hazards.
- Ensure projects comply with local and international construction standards and legal requirements.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in civil project management.
- Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure, commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
- Expertise in construction methods, project scheduling, and contract management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Primavera P6, MS Project, and construction management software.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, procurement processes, and cost control techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
