Area Sales Manager

Job Summary:

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales performance and operations of multiple retail stores within a defined geographic area. This role involves leading and motivating store teams, driving sales growth, ensuring excellent customer service, managing store operations, and maintaining brand standards. The Area Sales Manager acts as a liaison between the stores and the company's regional or corporate offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Growth & Performance:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets within the assigned area.
    • Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Set individual store targets and motivate store teams to achieve them.
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, average transaction value, units per transaction, and customer satisfaction scores.
    • Implement promotional activities and marketing campaigns to drive sales.
  • Store Operations & Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all stores within the area.
    • Ensure stores are adequately staffed, and manage store schedules to optimize productivity and customer service.
    • Monitor inventory levels and ensure efficient stock management to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
    • Maintain store visual merchandising standards and ensure a consistent brand image across all locations.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
    • Manage store budgets and control expenses.   
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Recruit, train, and develop store managers and other store staff.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
    • Motivate and inspire store teams to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Address employee issues and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Customer Service:
    • Champion a customer-centric culture within the stores.
    • Ensure that all stores provide exceptional customer service.
    • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues efficiently.
    • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance the customer experience.
  • Communication & Reporting:
    • Communicate regularly with store managers and regional/corporate offices.
    • Prepare and submit sales reports, performance analyses, and other relevant information.
    • Conduct regular store visits to assess performance, provide support, and ensure compliance.
    • Attend meetings and conferences as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in retail sales management, and fashion industry.   
  • Minimum of [7] years of experience in a multi-unit retail management role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire teams.   
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and customer service.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with retail management software.
