Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure construction activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, etc.).
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
- Prepare and submit environmental reports, permits, and documentation as required.
Sustainability Initiatives:
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies to reduce the environmental impact of construction projects.
- Promote the use of eco-friendly materials, waste reduction, and energy-efficient practices.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of environmental specialists and field staff.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Respond to environmental incidents, conduct investigations, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain emergency response plans and ensure team readiness.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, clients, and community stakeholders on environmental matters.
- Address concerns and provide updates on environmental performance and compliance.
- Participate in public meetings or hearings as needed.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated on emerging environmental regulations, technologies, and industry trends.
- Provide technical guidance on environmental issues such as soil erosion, water management, air quality, and waste disposal.
- Utilize environmental monitoring tools and software to track project performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. A degree in a science-related discipline is a plus.Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental management, preferably in the construction industry.Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and construction practices.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in environmental monitoring tools and software.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
