Reports to: Senior Project Manager, Egyptian Migration Hub

Purpose: The job holder will be responsible for conducting desk research, field research and analysis for the research activities of the project. The holder will support in drafting policy papers, situational reports and research reports as well as presenting key research findings in relevant dissemination activities.

Responsibilities:

● Identify key thematic areas and priorities for research by conducting desk review related to labor economics in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the European Union (EU)

● Conduct mapping and market assessments for Gulf Cooperation Council countries and EU countries

● Produce desk reviews of key scholarly work and reports related to the subject matter

● Analyze statistical data by triangulating key variables using software

● Produce statistical reports

● Draft labor market assessments

● Draft research reports on findings and policy papers

● Support in the dissemination, visibility and communication of the project

● Perform any additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirements:

● Master’s degree preferably in political economy or economics from an accredited academic

institution

Experience:

● At least five to seven years of experience with three to four years in conducting social research with an emphasis on labor migration-related issues particularly in and from the Middle East and North Africa region

Skills:

● Excellent drafting and editing skills

● Excellent presentation skills

● Proven record of conducting quantitative and qualitative research including data collection and

analysis

● Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

● Familiarity with SPSS, STRATA, and others

● Fluency in speaking and writing in English and Arabic languages

Working Conditions:

● Job Location: AUC New Campus with field visits to governorates in Egypt as needed for fieldwork

purposes
