Production Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand forecasts.
- Ensure optimal use of resources, including raw materials, labor, and machinery.
Quality Control:
- Ensure the steel products meet the company’s and industry’s quality standards.
- Implement and oversee quality control checks throughout the production process.
Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Manage and lead a team of workers, including operators, technicians, and support staff.
- Provide training to staff on safety procedures, equipment use, and production processes.
Safety Compliance:
- Enforce safety regulations to minimize accidents and injuries.
- Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Process Optimization:
- Analyze production processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Monitor and control the flow of materials through the production process.
Maintenance Management:
- Ensure that all machinery and equipment are properly maintained and functioning.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
Inventory Management:
- Manage raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products.
- Ensure the availability of materials to meet production schedules without excess inventory.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Oversee the budget for the production department.
- Track expenses and work to reduce costs without compromising safety or quality.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Work closely with supply chain, logistics, and sales teams to ensure production targets align with market demand.
- Communicate regularly with senior management to report on production performance, issues, and improvements.
Educational Requirements: A degree in engineering, industrial management, or a related field.
