Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and standards to ensure a safe and environmentally friendly working environment.
- Monitor compliance with local, regional, and international health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
- Ensure that safety management systems are effectively maintained and continuously improved.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analysis to identify potential safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Develop risk mitigation plans and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk control measures.
Safety Audits and Inspections:
- Perform routine safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE policies and regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal and external safety audits and support regulatory inspections.
- Identify non-conformance issues and ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken.
Training and Awareness:
- Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees on various HSE topics, including emergency response, fire safety, hazard communication, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Promote HSE awareness among employees at all levels to foster a proactive safety culture.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare incident reports and provide recommendations for preventing recurrence.
- Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and audits for future reference and compliance reporting.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for potential workplace hazards, including fire, chemical spills, and natural disasters.
- Conduct emergency drills and ensure readiness for potential emergency situations.
Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to waste management, air quality, water management, and other environmental impacts.
- Assist in monitoring and minimizing the environmental footprint of the organization.
- Ensure that hazardous substances are handled, stored, and disposed of in compliance with regulations.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records and documentation, including safety data sheets, compliance reports, and incident reports.
- Prepare regular HSE performance reports for senior management and recommend improvements based on analysis.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up to date with industry best practices, new technologies, and evolving safety regulations to continuously improve HSE processes and practices.
- Recommend and implement improvements to processes and systems based on lessons learned from incidents, audits, and inspections.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in Health, Safety, and Environmental management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are highly preferred.
- experience in HSE roles, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments.
- Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards (local, national, and international).
- Ability to conduct effective safety audits and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training, influencing, and working with employees at all levels.
- Proficient in using HSE management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
