  1. Develop and Implement HSE Policies:
  • Design and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies in line with local, national, and international standards.
  • Ensure policies are regularly updated and communicated to all employees.

  1. Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification:
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential health, safety, and environmental hazards.
  • Develop and implement measures to mitigate identified risks and improve safety standards.
  • Monitor workplace conditions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  1. Safety Training and Awareness:
  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs to ensure employees are properly informed and trained on safety practices, emergency procedures, and environmental management.
  • Ensure that all staff are trained in the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response procedures.
  • Promote a safety-first culture by organizing regular safety awareness campaigns and initiatives.
  1. Incident Investigation and Reporting:
  • Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure all incidents are documented and reported according to legal and company requirements.
  • Analyze incident trends to identify patterns and prevent recurrence of similar incidents.
  1. Compliance and Audits:
  • Ensure the organization is in full compliance with all local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of workplace practices, equipment, and operations to ensure adherence to HSE policies.
  • Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits.
  1. Environmental Management:
  • Develop and implement environmental management programs aimed at reducing the organization’s environmental impact.
  • Monitor waste management, recycling programs, and energy usage.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws and promote sustainability initiatives within the organization.
  1. Emergency Preparedness and Response:
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various potential emergencies, including chemical spills, fires, and natural disasters.
  • Ensure that emergency drills are regularly conducted and that all employees know their roles in an emergency.
  • Coordinate the response to any health, safety, or environmental emergencies.
  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on health, safety, and environmental performance to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate records of HSE activities, including training, incidents, and audits.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to HSE performance.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE initiatives and policies.
  • Recommend improvements to safety practices, risk management strategies, and environmental sustainability programs.
  • Stay updated on HSE trends, best practices, and regulations, implementing changes as necessary.


Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, .
  • Extensive knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience using HSE management systems.
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices is an advantage.
