The Electrical Maintenance Engineer at GEST for Metals will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within our facility. This role is crucial to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our operations, supporting our commitment to high-quality production and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment used in high-pressure die casting and metal forming operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain and update maintenance records and documentation.
Installation and Upgrades:
- Install, upgrade, and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during installations.
- Work with contractors and suppliers to obtain necessary parts and services.
Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify potential issues.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess system performance and integrity.
- Implement corrective actions based on inspection and testing results.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate electrical hazards.
- Provide training and support to staff on electrical safety practices and procedures.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Prepare detailed reports on electrical system performance, maintenance activities, and any incidents.
- Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track and manage maintenance tasks.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving electrical systems and maintenance practices.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and maintenance technologies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
Job RequirementsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and equipment used in metal manufacturing.Proficiency with diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and maintenance software.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.Strong communication and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications:Professional certification or licensure in electrical engineering or maintenance.Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and automated control systems.Knowledge of energy management and efficiency practices.Familiarity with CMMS and other maintenance management systems.
