Quality assurance and quality control manager
Duties & Responsibilities:
Compliance and Standards:
- Manage quality control and quality assurance processes: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive quality management systems, ensuring compliance with local legislation, applicable regulations, and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Stay current: Monitor and interpret changes in industry regulations and standards; proactively adjust quality control procedures to maintain compliance.
Quality Management:
- Metrics and Reporting: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics; generate regular reports on quality performance to inform management decision-making.
- Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to identify and address any quality deviations.
- Process Audits: Perform regular audits of processes and procedures to ensure they align with quality standards and identify opportunities for improvement
- Supplier Management: Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Approved Suppliers List; collaborate with procurement to ensure supplier quality.
Continual Improvement:
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with product quality and processes, ensuring proactive risk management strategies are in place.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead root cause analysis investigations for customer complaints and non-conformances; implement effective corrective actions.
- Process Documentation: Collaborate with production teams to ensure proper documentation of quality requirements and processes throughout production cycles.
- Innovation: Participate in early management reviews for new products and equipment, ensuring quality considerations are integrated into innovation and improvement initiatives.
Training and Development:
- Foster a Quality Culture: Provide training and coaching to the team on quality standards, procedures, and best practices; promote a mindset of continual improvement.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, etc.), Applied Arts, or a related field that provides a strong foundation for working in a nonwoven fabrication environment.
- Experience: 7-10 years of experience in quality control & assurance or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire others to achieve quality objectives.
- Organization and Planning: Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Policy Development: Ability to develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that drive quality improvement.
Authorities:
- Hiring and Evaluation: Approve the hiring and conduct performance evaluations of quality control and quality assurance staff.
- Acceptance and Approval: Authorize acceptance reports for raw materials, in-process products, and final products.
- Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Approve the list of suppliers and sub-contractors, ensuring they meet quality requirements.
- Audit and Compliance: Approve process audit reports, audit procedures, compliance procedures, and associated documentation.
Location and Travel:
- Location: Borg El-Arab, Alexandria.
Performance Metrics:
- Achievement of quality targets and KPIs.
- Reduction in defect rates and customer complaints.
