Actuarial Valuation Manager

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of one or more of the three sub departments: Products, Pricing and Portfolio Analysis, Risk and Reinsurance, and Central Actuarial.

  • Sign off on work produced from their departments

  • Communication to Management Team members.

  • Managing relationships with other departments

  • Provide support to all functions within the company, relating to their sub-department's roles and responsibilities.

  • Manage actuarial relationships directly with external parties such as, but not limited to, reinsurers, EFSA and the company's auditors.

  • Ensure the relevant sub-department abides by all policies and procedures approved by the Board of Directors.

  • Ensure sub-department's compliance to all rules and regulations

  • Ensuring that all necessary policies and procedure documentation is in place and regularly reviewed.

  • Chair and participate in company management committees as stipulated in the sub-department roles and responsibilities.

  • Recruit, manage, coach and develop an Actuarial sub-department team so that they can meet their job accountabilities.

  • Undertake performance appraisals for all members in the sub department.

  • Assist the Chief Actuary with all strategic objectives of the department.

  • Act as a deputy to the Actuarial Director.

Business Knowledge:



  •  Overall knowledge of general management principles and processes sufficient to professionally handle the sub-department.

  • A detailed knowledge of the deliverables of all the sub-departmental work, including in-depth knowledge of departmental processes and procedures.

  • A developed understanding of all system-produced of company systems and reports applicable to the sub-departmental work.

  • Good knowledge of VBA and MS Access.

  • A detailed knowledge of Egyptian Insurance Law and accompanying Regulations.
