Program background:

the project Supported by (GIZ), Empowering Local Communities to Support for Social Change in Selected Governorates in Egypt (ECSDI) is an 18-month, project that aims at enhancing the inclusion and empowerment of PWDs including those with physical impairment, visual impairment and hearing impairment. 

The ECSDI will be implemented in 3 selected governorates (Cairo, Alex and Asuit). The project will be co-implemented by Misr EL Kheir Foundation and a group of partner NGOs in these governorates.

Mission Objective:

The aims at enhancing the inclusion and empowerment of PWDs including those with physical impairment, visual impairment and hearing impairment. Through a set of interrelated activities, the project was designed to target PWDs, their families, people directly dealing with them as well as community organizations prompting and advocating for rights of PWDs. 

Overall Objective: Empowerment of youth, women and PwDs in society,and strengthening the capacityof target PwDs-NGOs for more inclusive and enabling communities.

Project Specific Objectives:

  • S.O.1. Create inclusive accessible environment for PWDs in MOSS rehabilitation offices, community schools and Youth Centers.
  • S.O.2. Develop PWDs life skills that heavily impact their quality of life.
  • S.O.3. Raise awareness on proper interacting with PWDs among their families and people dealing with them.
  • S.O.4. Promote role of NGOs working with PWDs and Enhance their capacities;

Job Purpose

The Project coordinator must establish a good working relationship and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including the government and other development partners. S/he will work closely with the Program Manager to manage the assigned budget, including planning and managing expenses and financial reporting, external consultant(s), and service providers and undertaking several other administrative tasks as required.

The project is implemented outside Cairo, and the role will require frequent travel to other governorates.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Key Accountability Areas

  • Work with the project manager and accountant to prepare the annual budget for the component's activities as well as quarterly financial requirements, with clear and detailed implementation plans.
  • Optimize the use of the budget and project expenditures at the field level that preserve the project's resources and optimize their investment in order to achieve its objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and interaction between the field task team, implementing partners and the project's financial team to facilitate the access of raw materials, tools and equipment to adult education classes and ensure their access to beneficiaries.
  • Participation in the development of the governorate's implementation plan under the overall project plan.
  • Implementation and follow-up of the project's various field and office activities in order to achieve the objectives and results of the action plan.
  • Attend and coordinate various coordination and administrative meetings with different donors and partners.
  • Implement and take into account the quality of work required through the general plan and monthly plans and ensure that they are evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively on a monthly basis under the supervision of the monitoring and evaluation officer.
  • Follow-up on equipment activities, coordinate documentation and recording of project activities and submit a weekly/or monthly/progress report on activities carried out in coordination with the follow-up officer.
  • Organizing and participating in seminars and sessions held in the framework of the implementation of the project with partners and following up the beneficiaries in a practical manner that ensures the improvement of their skills and qualification for work.
  • Represent the project in dealing with partners.
  • Preparing, organizing and participating in the celebrations and media events of the project.
  • Prepare the required reports and all administrative requirements throughout the project in a manner that ensures the full vision of the governorate's status and achievements.
  • Receipt and delivery of the written formats of the various reports, disclosures and formats for the work and ensure that they are completed as required and delivered at the specified times.
  • Receipt of advances, interim covenant and disbursement of budgeted items and proper settlement of documents for dispatch to Headquarters.

QualificationsExperience in a project coordination position with development organizations with a minimum of 2 years of work experience.Be of the same preservation and have the ability to move continuously, especially between the target villagesExcellent analytical and time-management skills and commitment to meeting deadlines.Excellent command of English and Arabic is a must.
