Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor technical staff, including engineers, designers, and draftsmen.
- Assign tasks and projects to team members and monitor their progress.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.
Project Coordination:
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure technical support is provided throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review project plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure that project deadlines and technical standards are met.
Technical Documentation:
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Ensure that all technical documents comply with company and industry standards.
- Implement and maintain document control systems.
Quality Assurance:
- Develop and implement quality control processes for technical work.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with technical standards.
- Address any technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical advice and support to other departments, such as sales, procurement, and operations.
- Resolve technical issues and challenges in a timely and efficient manner.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to address technical concerns and provide solutions.
Resource Management:
- Manage technical resources, including software, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure that the technical team has the necessary resources to complete their tasks.
- Prepare and manage the technical office budget.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest engineering trends and technologies.
- Implement new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality.
Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare and present technical reports to senior management and clients.
- Facilitate effective communication between the technical team and other departments.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical input.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PE) is preferred.Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a technical or engineering role, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
