To provide professional leadership and management to ensure high quality
teaching strategies, effective and efficient use of resources, and raised
standards of learning and achievement for all students in the subject area.
To play a major role in the development of school progress and attainment.
To inform the school management of students’ performance and future
priorities and targets for the subject.
Ensure teachers have appropriate knowledge and understanding of thesubject. Ensure teachers’ planning and use of time and resources are effective. Ensure the effectiveness of differentiation and class management strategies. Ensure consistency within and across all grade levels (teaching materials,plans, assessment, homework assignment, skills, etc.) Ensure coverage of the curriculum and progression of learning. Follow up on how teachers use assessment to inform planning. Regularly and systematically provide guidance to colleagues on content,methodology, and resources.
