PeakAI is an early-stage startup pioneering the use of artificial intelligence in mental health support for coaches and athletes. The idea for PeakAI was born from a unique collaboration between experts in psycholinguistics, sports science, and technology, who realized the transformative impact they could have by combining their expertise. They sought to address the often under-appreciated power of the mind in sports performance, using AI to analyze psycholinguistic patterns and create effective, scalable solutions for athletes.

Utilizing the OCEAN model, our platform evaluates personality traits to provide tailored recommendations, enhancing mental well-being and performance. Having completed our first phase of development with the assistance of a partner software development firm, we are now looking to build our internal engineering team to further innovate and expand our capabilities. Role Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer at PeakAI, you will be pivotal in the development and optimization of our platform’s backend functionalities. Your expertise in server-side, alongside your knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, containerization with Docker, and Kubernetes, will drive the creation of robust, scalable, and secure backend services. Your contributions will support our mission of leveraging AI in mental health support, focusing on the mental well-being and performance of coaches and athletes.

Your Role

• Develop and maintain robust backend services with a focus on performance, scalability, and security using NestJS.
• Design, implement, and manage RESTful API services, ensuring they are optimized, documented, and securely accessible to frontend applications and third-party integrations.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a microservices architecture, promoting modularity, flexibility, and scalability of the platform’s backend.
• Utilize Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration to enhance the deployment, scaling, and management of applications, ensuring high availability and efficiency.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ideate and deliver new backend solutions that align with our product roadmap and strategic goals.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in backend development, REST APIs, microservices, and containerization technologies.
