Job Summary: 

The network engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's network infrastructure. This includes local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets, extranets, and other data communication systems. The network engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that network operations meet the organization's requirements for performance, security, and scalability. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices. 
  • Configure and manage network services such as DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP). 
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high availability and reliability. 
  • Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control policies. 
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems, such as servers, storage, and applications. 
  • Conduct regular network audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and optimization. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT staff regarding network-related issues.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend and implement innovative solutions. 
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. 
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network emergencies outside of regular business hours as needed.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as a network engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification preferred.Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Unifi, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, etc.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of cloud networking principles and technologies (e.g., AWS, VDI) is a plus.Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization technologies is desirable.
