- Prepare conceptual and detail design documents, lists, calculation notes, and drawings for mechanical systems and components.
- Conduct detailed material take-offs to determine the quantity and specifications of materials required for projects.
- Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for projects and negotiate them with all concerned parties.
- Negotiate technical issues related to offers received from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
- Prepare technical submittals and negotiate them with clients to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Generate shop drawings and as-built drawings to document the construction and installation of mechanical systems.
- Study and analyze project contracts and technical specifications to ensure design compliance.
- Develop project design philosophy and preliminary estimated BOQs to guide the design process.
- Perform base design calculations and analyze design parameters for accuracy and feasibility.
- Review and approve all details of project design drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Issue bills of materials based on design calculations and drawings to facilitate procurement and construction activities.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) to verify the quality and performance of manufactured equipment.
- Provide technical support at project sites, resolving issues and ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Contact and follow up on technical aspects of quotations from suppliers to verify conformity with project requirements.
- Issue Manufacturing Releases to authorize the production of mechanical components and equipment.
- Finalize the review of Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders to facilitate procurement processes.
- Code and enter all project materials and descriptions into the company's Oracle system for tracking and management.
- Prepare log files to document project progress, milestones, and issues.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules and agreed milestones, proactively addressing any deviations or delays.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical design engineering or a related field.Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools.Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
