- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Analyze historical data, market trends, and industry benchmarks to develop accurate cost projections.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather relevant information and input for cost estimates.
- Prepare and present cost estimates, including breakdowns of costs by category and phase of construction, to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Participate in bid reviews and negotiations to ensure competitive pricing and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or changes in scope.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and support staff as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).Minimum of 7 years of experience in cost estimating for construction projects, with a focus on commercial, residential, or industrial sectors.Thorough knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients and stakeholders.Proven track record of delivering accurate and timely cost estimates within budgetary constraints.Professional certification (e.g., Certified Cost Professional) is a plus.
