Since then we have continued to bring growth and security and safety to the country by upgrading these transportation systems as well as providing solutions for customers in air traffic management, air defence and Navy.Purpose of the Position:The Systems Administrator Manager is a technical operational role responsible for administrating a complex and critical Automated Fare Collection System in Egypt. You will have a strong understanding of a complex system, and software applications. You must also be able to listen, understand and provide assistance for technical matters relating to Automated Fare collection systems. The Systems Administrator must be familiar with a complex computer Infrastructure, network solution, Web Orientated Solution. The Systems Operation Manager, works alongside the Chief of Services and SLA and the Head of Engineering. He is responsible for managing the system administration-related tasks, and ensuring the process is effective and that the right stakeholders are involved during the process. The Systems Operation Manager must be able to provide guidance and expertise to both the customer and the Operation team building a strong cross-team functionality. The position requires strong communication skills, and must be able to operate at multiple levels within the team. You will be the key technical contact between the customer and the stakeholders involved in the daily operation and administration of the system in production. The Systems Administrator will be located at the Attaba Data Center in Cairo.Responsibilities :The Systems Operation Manager responsibilities are as follows, he/she must:Provide technical assistance on Automated Fare Collection System in operation;Lead a team in performing all system administration activities;Ensures global consistency of the system administration process, practices and tools;Ensures the key people appointed on the system administration are properly skilled;Solve problems in a persistent and systematic fashion taking lead on defect analysis and be hands-on with troubleshooting exercises when required;Tracks competitiveness KPI, performs root cause analysis of problems and conduct associated corrective actions (Performance initiatives) at their level. Manage the monitoring the Automated Fare Collection System in production and manage bug tracking using tools such as TFS;Acts as the technical interface to support the deployment of a complex Automated Fare Collection System in production;Provide technical support to operation and maintenance teamsPerform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlesslyManages people effectively, including participation in the professional development of technical employees in line with the business strategy;Manages the skills and competencies of people on their team – including themselves – in particular in view of requirements of an Authorised Engineering Organisation according to Competency Management Policies;Key communications Key communications in this position are:Regular communications with the customer;Report operationally to the Chief of Services and SLA. Regular communication and with the Chief of Services and SLA in relation with the performance of the system administration activitiesReport functionally to the head of Engineering. Regular communications with the development team in Cairo and other Thales countries depending on the project. Special Requirements: Interstate and overseas travel may be required. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldEssential Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in system administrationExperience in operating a complex System with third party componentStrong understanding of Windows, operating systemsExperience with networking protocols and technologiesExperience with complex computing technologies like Hyper converged ITExperience in SQL database administrationExperience with virtualization technologiesExperience with systems performance-monitoring toolsGiven the delicate nature of the AFC, experience in security protocols and procedures is crucial. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsTool’s practice like TFS or JIRAVersatility and flexibilityRigorousness, commitment and accountability, ability to take and meet commitmentsWorking under pressure in an operational environmentFluent in English.
