Sustainability, Carbon Footprint engineers take a lead role in delivering sustainable and low-energy design projects in the built environment. The role demands an understanding of engineering in relation to reuse, remanufacturing, recycling, and the effects of carbon emissions.
This position will chart a net-zero roadmap with energy transition and decarbonization solutions. This role will be responsible for helping Energya cables and Energya Steel to create a Sustainability profile, GHG emissions, set science-based emissions targets, design net-zero roadmap and climate actions, and develop carbon projects and Environmental Product declarations.
 

Responsibilities:
• Managing projects relating to carbon accounting, targets, settings, net zero road mapping, and environmental attribute project development.
• Providing strategic low-energy design advice
• Identifying sustainability risks and appropriate mitigation measures and highlighting any opportunities to increase the organization's sustainability credentials
• Undertaking a gap analysis report should the desired rating not be achievable
• Monitoring the design process to ensure that the scheme design objectives are being followed and the design meets the client's requirements.
• Preparing low and zero-carbon technology feasibility studies and energy statements for local authority approval as part of planning applications
• Collect and collate qualitative and quantitative data to help communicate and support your sustainable engineering designs
• Build Sustainability portfolios for energya companies.


Requirements:• Degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering• Min. 3 years experience in executive sustainability and carbon development projects• Familiar with sustainability reporting framework and standards• Knowledge in emerging sustainability and carbon market trends/standards/ policies• Knowledge in carbon accounting and GHG Protocol• Knowledge in lifecycle assessmentKnowledge in Science Based Target Settings• Knowledge of climate-related risks, opportunities, and resiliency assessmentKnowledge of nature-based solutions• Knowledge in carbon credit project development• Knowledge in Environmental Product declarations.• Knowledge in Energy Sector• Good interpersonal skills• Attention to detail with good presentation, analytical and writing skills Key Skills:• Strong technical engineering knowledge• Good understanding of low-carbon building solutions• Apt product design skills and product assessment skills• Good report-writing skills• Strong communication and project management capabilities• Understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment• Sound knowledge of mapping, thermal and energy modeling, and life cycle assessment tools• Good understanding of the circular economy's impact on sustainable engineeringQualifications:• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Experience with minimizing waste, using renewable energy sources, reducing pollution, and creating long-lasting, efficient systems that can be enjoyed by future generations. The importance of sustainable engineering comes from the industry's aim to create a better world.• Knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and carbon offsetting.• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance.• Experience with carbon accounting standards such as ISO 14064 and The Greenhouse Gas Protocol.• Experience with life cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies and tools.• Experience with Environmental Product Declarations methodologies and tools• Experience in conducting carbon footprint analysis for different sectors and industries.
