Responsibilities:

  • Develop concept and detailed design for fire protection systems including, sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, and fire pumps using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Perform various tasks using Navisworks for coordination of design and clash detection.
  • Identify hazard classification and perform system hydraulic calculations for pipe sizing and pump selection, using hydraulic calculation software such as SprinkCAD and HydraCAD.
  • Prepare finished drawing packages for permits and construction using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Research applicable codes and standards for coverage requirements and design criteria selection.
  • Work with project senior engineers to execute design and specifications.
  • Experience in Special Hazard systems including foam and gas systems is considered an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience in the mechanical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the engineering field with a at least 2 years of fire
  • protection experience.
  • Working knowledge Fire Codes and NFPA standards.
  • Strong AutoCAD and REVIT design skills a must.
