CHINT-EGEMAC is a joint venture between CHINT Group, a global leader in smart energy solutions, and EGEMAC, a premier manufacturer of electrical equipment in Egypt. We specialize in producing high-quality low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) switchgears, substations, and power distribution components tailored for industrial, commercial, and utility sectors.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and modeling mechanical structures, sheet metal enclosures, busbar layouts, and internal component mounting for LV/MV switchgears, panelboards, and control cabinets. You will work closely with electrical engineers, production teams, and supply chain managers to bring designs from concept to factory floor.

• 3D & 2D Modeling: Design detailed 3D assemblies and 2D fabrication drawings for sheet metal switchgear enclosures, busbar structures, doors, and internal mechanical supports using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• DFM (Design for Manufacturing): Optimize designs for sheet metal cutting, bending, welding, punching, and powder coating processes.
• Component Integration: Plan mechanical dimensions and thermal/ventilation clearance for circuit breakers, busbars, transformers, and electrical meters within cabinets.
• BOM Creation: Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), sheet metal cutting lists, and structural specs for procurement and production.
• Prototyping & Testing: Supervise prototype assembly, perform structural/heat dissipation checks, and support mechanical type-testing (e.g., IP rating, IK impact resistance, seismic tolerance).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with electrical engineers to align mechanical spatial layouts with electrical schematics and busbar routing.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all mechanical designs strictly adhere to international and local standards (IEC 61439, IEC 62271, ISO 9001).

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering.
• Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design within the electrical equipment, switchgear, panel building, or sheet metal fabrication industries.
• Software Proficiency:
• Advanced skills in SolidWorks (3D modeling, sheet metal module, assemblies) or Inventor.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D layout drawings).
• Technical Knowledge:
• In-depth understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques (laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, surface treatment).
• Familiarity with LV/MV switchgear enclosures, IP enclosure protection ratings, and busbar mechanical support calculations.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Languages: Fluent in Arabic; professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Familiarity with IEC standards for switchgear enclosures (IEC 61439-1/2, IEC 62271-200).
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or thermal simulation tools in SolidWorks Simulation.
