Role Description The Assistant Driller is a full-time, on-site role based in Suez, supporting the Driller in the safe and efficient operation of the drilling rig and associated equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring drilling parameters, assisting with the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, and ensuring compliance with company safety procedures and industry standards. The role involves supervising and coordinating activities on the drill floor, supporting the implementation of drilling programs, and participating in routine inspections of equipment and well conditions. The Assistant Driller collaborates closely with rig crew members, service providers, and supervisors to maintain safe working conditions, minimize downtime, and achieve operational targets. The position requires readiness to work in a rotational schedule and in varying environmental conditions common to drilling operations.
Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with heavy equipment operation and basic maintenance in an industrial or drilling environment. Knowledge of drilling operations and procedures, including general Drilling and Directional Drilling activities. Ability to perform routine Inspection of equipment, tools, and safety systems to ensure reliable and safe operation. Understanding of Oil & Gas industry practices, standards, and safety requirements, particularly related to drilling rigs. Technical diploma or degree in mechanical, petroleum, or related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices, with willingness to follow all safety guidelines and participate in safety trainings. Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively within a diverse rig crew and multidisciplinary teams. Physical ability to perform demanding tasks in outdoor and offshore/onshore rig environments, including working at heights and in confined spaces as required. Basic understanding of rig equipment systems (pumps, mud systems, hoisting equipment) and willingness to learn advanced operational techniques. Flexibility to work rotational shifts and adapt to changing operational needs and schedules.
