Job Details

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Logistics Section Head to lead and manage our logistics operations, with a strong focus on international imports.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the complete import cycle — from coordinating with international suppliers and arranging shipments, through shipping documentation and customs clearance, until the goods are safely received.

The ideal candidate should be proactive, commercially aware, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple shipments simultaneously while ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, and proper documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Import & Shipping Management

    • Manage the complete import process.

    • Coordinate with suppliers regarding production readiness, shipping documents, and loading schedules.

    • Arrange and coordinate bookings with shipping lines.

    • Follow up on vessel schedules, ETDs, ETAs, transshipment, delays, and shipment status.

    • Coordinate inland transportation, loading, trucking, and delivery arrangements.

    • Ensure shipping documents are received correctly and on time.

    • Coordinate with customs clearance team and ensure timely procedures and release of shipments.

    • Resolve shipment, documentation, customs, and transportation issues efficiently.

  • Planning & Coordination

    • Prepare and maintain an updated Import Shipment Schedule / Shipment Tracker.

    • Coordinate closely with Procurement, Sales, Finance, Warehouse, and Project teams.

    • Ensure logistics plans are aligned with project requirements and customer delivery commitments.

    • Monitor critical and urgent shipments and proactively communicate potential delays.

    • Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure proper receiving and inspection of imported goods.

  • Cost & Commercial Control

    • Obtain and compare freight and logistics quotations.

    • Monitor freight, clearance, transportation, storage, demurrage, and other logistics costs.

    • Develop and maintain accurate landed-cost information for imported goods.

  • Documentation & Compliance

    • Ensure all import documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with Egyptian customs and import requirements.

    • Maintain organized records for all shipments and import transactions.

    • Coordinate with customs brokers and relevant authorities when required.

    • Ensure proper documentation for financial and accounting purposes.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and supervise the logistics team.

  • Distribute responsibilities and monitor team performance.

  • Establish and improve logistics procedures and workflows.

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport companies.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics and international imports, preferably with experience in Egypt.

  • Strong experience in sea freight and international shipping.

  • Good knowledge of import procedures, customs clearance, shipping documentation, and international trade.

  • Experience dealing with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and transport companies.

  • Strong negotiation and cost-control skills.

  • Good command of English, particularly written and business English.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up abilities.

  • Good knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
