Responsibilities and duties:
Receiving cash and checks and verifying their validity.
Recording all cash receipts and payments daily.
Disbursing amounts based on approved documents and cash discharge vouchers.
Preparing and reconciling the treasury custody and reconciling actual cash with the book balance.
Depositing cash and checks into the bank according to company procedures.
Preparing daily treasury movement reports.
Keeping receipts of cash receipts and disbursements and financial documents orderly.
Handling imprest and petty cash in accordance with instructions.
Following up banking operations and transfers, depending on company nature.
Assisting in payroll or entitlements if within the job scope.
Requirements and qualifications:
Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Financial and Banking Sciences; a Bachelor of Commerce is preferred for many positions.
Previous treasury or accounting experience; some roles require 1 to 3 years, others require more experience.
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
Good knowledge of accounting software and financial systems.
Understanding of basic accounting, cash, banks, and reconciliations.
Extreme accuracy and attention to detail.
Integrity and confidentiality in handling data and funds.
Ability to work under pressure and review numbers without errors.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
