Operational Performance & Throughput
- Own the operational performance of the assigned section — throughput, equipment uptime, productivity, and adherence to vessel plans and client schedules.
- Lead daily operations reviews, shift handover discipline, and section-level KPI tracking against agreed targets.
- Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and contractor resources across shifts to meet operational demands.
- Identify and remove operational bottlenecks; escalate cross-section issues to the Terminal Senior Manager with proposed solutions.
Equipment & Asset Management
- Ensure full operational readiness of section equipment — stevedoring cranes, conveyors, hoppers, mobile harbor cranes, and ancillary systems — in close coordination with the maintenance function.
- Drive uptime improvement through structured root cause analysis of recurring equipment failures.
- Champion preventive and predictive maintenance discipline at section level.
People Leadership & Capability
- Lead, coach, and develop section shift supervisors, foremen, and operational crews.
- Drive performance management within the section — clear objectives, regular feedback, and disciplined performance reviews.
- Build a section culture aligned with the terminal's standards on safety, quality, productivity, and accountability.
- Manage contractor performance and discipline in line with the terminal's contractor management framework.
HSE Leadership
- Own HSE performance within the assigned section — zero compromise on safety standards regardless of operational pressure.
- Lead daily HSE engagement: toolbox talks, behavioral observations, permit-to-work compliance, and corrective action follow-through.
- Personally lead the first response to any incident or near miss within the section; participate in root cause investigations.
- Ensure full compliance with ISO 45001, Egyptian Labor Law No. 14 of 2025, and relevant port authority HSE protocols.
Continuous Improvement & Standards
- Drive structured continuous improvement initiatives within the section — Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or equivalent multinational improvement frameworks.
- Standardize operational procedures, SOPs, and work instructions; eliminate variation that is not value-adding.
- Capture and share lessons learned across the broader terminal operation.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate closely with peer Section Heads, the maintenance function, planning, commercial, and HSE teams to deliver integrated terminal performance.
- Interface professionally with vessel masters, surveyors, client representatives, and port authority officials as required.
- Support the Terminal Senior Manager in operational planning, budgeting, and capital project execution.
Reporting & Governance
- Produce accurate daily, weekly, and monthly section performance reports.
- Maintain disciplined documentation of operational events, decisions, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Contribute to terminal-level governance forums and operational review meetings.
