Missouri, United States (Remote) Position Overview Blueprint Engineering Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Part-Time Structural Steel Design Engineer to support and oversee daily engineering operations. This role is ideal for a senior structural professional with strong technical expertise in structural steel design who is looking for a flexible leadership position. The ideal candidate will combine deep engineering knowledge with organizational and operational management skills to ensure efficient project execution and high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily engineering office operations and workflow management Review structural steel design calculations, connection designs, and drawings Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and industry standards (AISC, IBC, ASCE, etc.) Coordinate with clients, fabricators, and contractors to address technical inquiries Assist with proposal preparation, budgeting, and project scheduling Maintain quality control procedures and document management systems Support business development and technical staffing coordination when needed
Qualifications:10–15 years of experience in Structural Steel Design Strong knowledge of AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, and related standards Experience with connection design and steel detailing coordination Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., RAM, RISA, STAAD, ETABS, or similar) Strong leadership and communication skills Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with steel fabricators and industrial projects Familiarity with estimating and proposal development
