Mechanical Site Engineer

Main Job Scope:


The Mechanical Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing all mechanical works during the construction and installation phases of projects. This role ensures that mechanical systems are installed according to approved drawings, specifications, and standards, while coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical point of contact at the site for subcontractors, craftsmen, and operatives involved in mechanical works.
  • Review, verify, and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure clarity and accuracy before commencement of work.
  • Prepare and update shop drawings, as-built drawings, and method statements as required.
  • Coordinate with other trades (electrical, civil, HVAC, plumbing) to facilitate seamless installation and prevent conflicts.
  • Monitor daily site activities, supervise the installation process, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, monitor progress, and prepare detailed reports including daily, weekly, and monthly progress updates.
  • Manage procurement schedules, material deliveries, and storage to ensure timely availability of materials and prevent work delays.
  • Resolve technical issues on-site promptly to prevent project delays and ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Enforce health and safety policies, conduct safety meetings, and ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to meet project milestones and deliverables.

Main Skills Required:Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Effective communication and team coordination skills.Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and guide site teams.Good organizational and time-management skills. Main Qualifications & Computer Literacy:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.5-8 years of relevant experience in construction or installation of mechanical systems, preferably in residential, commercial, or industrial projects.Familiarity with local and international mechanical codes and standards.Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Experience with modeling software such as Revit or Navisworks is a plus.
