We are searching for a dedicated and highly skilled Academic Principal with extensive experience in Cognia accreditation. This role is pivotal in ensuring our American School meets and surpasses Cognia’s rigorous standards, driving academic excellence and fostering a dynamic learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Cognia Accreditation Compliance:
- Lead and oversee all academic operations to ensure adherence to Cognia accreditation standards.
- Regularly review and update school practices to align with Cognia’s quality assurance requirements.
- Prepare and submit all required reports and documentation to Cognia, tracking progress and implementing recommendations.
Curriculum and Scheduling:
- Develop, review, and refine the school curriculum to meet academic goals and accreditation standards.
- Create and manage the academic calendar and class schedules, ensuring effective use of instructional time.
Leadership and Staff Management:
- Inspire and lead a team of academic staff, setting clear performance goals and expectations.
- Provide ongoing professional development and support, guiding staff in best practices and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate staff performance, offering constructive feedback and identifying areas for growth.
Academic Excellence and Instruction:
- Monitor and enhance instructional programs, ensuring they align with Cognia standards and meet the needs of all students.
- Supervise the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) to support and track academic progress.
- Conduct regular assessments of teaching effectiveness and student performance, using data to drive improvements.
Extra-Curricular Activities and Counseling:
- Oversee the planning and execution of extra-curricular programs, ensuring they complement the academic curriculum.
- Assess and support counseling programs to promote student success and well-being.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Ensure compliance with assessment regulations and procedures as set by Cognia and other accrediting bodies.
- Analyze student performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and to inform instructional strategies.
Community and School Climate:
- Foster a positive and inclusive school climate that supports academic and personal growth.
- Engage with parents, staff, and the community to build strong relationships and support the school’s mission and goals.
Qualifications:Cognia Experience Required: Demonstrated experience with Cognia accreditation processes, including maintaining and exceeding standards.Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of 10 years in international education leadership, with at least 5 years as a principal or in a similar role.Comprehensive understanding of international education systems, regulations, and best practices.Skills:Strong leadership and motivational skills with a proven track record of driving academic excellence.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Advanced problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills.Proficiency in MS Office and educational technology.Competencies:High level of accountability and positivity in managing academic operations.Ability to inspire and lead a team towards achieving high standards and continuous improvement.Skilled in adapting to change, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple responsibilities effectively.
