Position Overview:
The Shop Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and optimizing interdepartmental relations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and the achievement of organizational goals. This role demands strategic thinking, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Responsibilities:

Lead Time Management:

  • Ensure timely product delivery through meticulous management of lead times.
  • Align monthly production plans with operational objectives.

Workflow Optimization:

  • Continuously refine workflows to boost productivity.
  • Implement innovative solutions for process enhancements.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Coordinate production plans with the Operations Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Production and Logistics Supervisors to ensure material availability meets production requirements.
  • Work with the Quality and Logistics Supervisors to meet shipping schedules.

Team Engagement and Development:

  • Conduct peer reviews and motivational sessions.
  • Execute quarterly performance evaluations.

Data Management and Analysis:

  • Oversee data entry and generate comprehensive reports.
  • Utilize pivot tables for insights and monthly reports.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

  • Identify and address disruptions to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with all departments for overall improvement.

Innovation and Technology Integration:

  • Seek new tools, machines, and techniques to enhance workflows.
  • Evaluate and integrate technology solutions.

Shop Floor Management:

  • Assist in managing the shop floor, including production, quality, and warehouses.
  • Ensure proper routing of materials on the shop floor.
  • Implement effective processes and procedures on the shop floor.
  • Schedule materials, workforce utilization, and operations to meet targets and lead times.
  • Identify and address communication gaps or bottlenecks.
  • Monitor and correct deviations from standard procedures promptly.
  • Conduct attendance checks and record them for the workshop team.

Performance Metrics:

Production Efficiency:

  • Reduce or eliminate errors across all departments.

Maximized Output:

  • Minimize waste and overhead costs across all departments.

Timely Execution:

  • Meet or exceed lead time targets.
  • Ensure accurate production planning and execution.
  • Achieve time savings (cycle time reduction and lead time improvement) across all departments.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead team members and co-supervisors in adopting the company's value system.
  • Maintain a daily journal of key performance information for the Operations Manager to facilitate improvements and provide comprehensive insights for quarterly reviews.

 


Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, preferably in an art-related field or study.2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.Technical proficiency and project management skills.Strong leadership and communication abilities.Innovative thinking and a continuous improvement mindset.Ability to manage blue-collar workers and collaborate effectively with white-collar colleagues.Proficiency in advanced Excel, data analysis, report generation, dashboard development, Excel integration, training and support, continuous learning, and problem-solving skills.Strong collaboration skills with logistics and quality assurance teams.
