Role Description The Automation and OT Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Qesm 2nd 6 October, focused on supporting and optimizing plant automation and operational technology systems. Daily responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, and maintaining PLCs, SCADA systems, and other process control hardware and software to ensure stable and efficient production. The role involves diagnosing and resolving automation and electrical issues, implementing improvements in control strategies, and supporting robotics or automated equipment used in manufacturing processes. The engineer collaborates with production, maintenance, and EHS teams to enhance reliability, safety, and data integrity, while documenting changes, maintaining system backups, and contributing to continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Automation and Process Control skills, including experience with PLCs, SCADA/DCS systems, and industrial communication networks. Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering competencies, covering industrial power systems, instrumentation, and control panel design or maintenance. Candidates should possess Troubleshooting skills for complex automation, electrical, and process-related issues in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment. Candidates should possess Robotics-related skills, such as integrating, programming, or maintaining robotic cells or automated handling systems. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field. Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or similar process industries is an advantage. Knowledge of industrial safety standards, OT cybersecurity principles, and best practices for reliable plant operation. Ability to read technical drawings, work cross-functionally with production and maintenance teams, and communicate clearly in both written and verbal form.
