Overview: The host/hostess is responsible for creating a memorable first impression for guests by greeting them in a friendly and professional manner. The role also includes managing reservations, waitlists, and organizing guest flow to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience within the venue. Tasks and responsibilities: 1. Guest experience - welcome guests upon arrival in a friendly and professional manner - create a positive first impression reflecting the venue's image - accompany guests to their tables and present the menus 2. Reservation management and seating organization - manage reservations using available systems or records - organize table assignment to maximize space utilization - coordinate with the service team to determine seating arrangements 3. Waitlist management - monitor and continuously update the guest waitlist - inform guests of wait time accurately and clearly - ensure orderly entry of guests fairly and efficiently 4. Coordination and operations - collaborate with the service team and management to ensure fast turnover of tables - support operations, especially during peak times - monitor venue capacity and efficiently manage seating 5. Guest handling - respond to guest inquiries professionally - handle minor complaints and escalate complex cases to management - ensure guest satisfaction throughout their stay 6.
