The German International School Cairo (DISK) is an expanding international full-day school with a trilingual focus (German, English, Arabic). In the 2026/27 academic year, DISK will enroll students from Kindergarten to Grade 7. As the school continues to grow, DISK will offer internationally recognized qualifications acknowledged in Germany. The school follows German curricula and quality standards while implementing the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, specifically the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). In Cooperation with the Sieger-Explorer Talent Center DISK provides a stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their individual strengths and talents. We are seeking a qualified and committed Middle School Teacher (Sekundarstufe I) to join our professional team as of 15 August 2026. Key Responsibilities Deliver subject instruction in English in the Middle School (Sekundarstufe I) (e.g., Math, Physics, Chemistry. Design and implement learning experiences in accordance with the PYP8 and MYP, promoting student autonomy, inquiry-based learning, and collaborative skill development. Apply contemporary assessment practices to monitor and document student learning progress and development. Contribute to the continuous development and refinement of the school’s curriculum in alignment with educational standards and school priorities. Candidate Profile The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications, competencies, and personal attributes:Several years of professional teaching experience in Middle School (Sekundarstufe I), ideally in an international and/or multilingual school environment. Strong commitment to implementing agreed school-wide pedagogical approaches and to ongoing professional growth and training. Dedication to supporting students holistically—academically, socially, and emotionally—and to fostering individual talents. Proven ability to encourage students’ emotional development, self-confidence, empathy, and personal initiative. Appreciation of cultural diversity and commitment to the values of respect, tolerance, openness, and integrity. Excellent teamwork skills, a cooperative working style, and a positive professional attitude. Ability to design differentiated and motivating learning opportunities that promote curiosity and engagement. Willingness to co-develop hands-on, inquiry-based, and problem-solving learning experiences with colleagues. Professional and respectful approach to parent communication and collaboration. Availability to teach and have meetings within the school’s full-time frame (8:00 AM–4:00 PM).
