Purpose:
Responsible for designing, implementing, and operating database systems that meet business needs.
Responsibilities:
Proactively monitor database health, ensuring system availability and resolving performance bottlenecks before they impact users. Troubleshoot live database issues, including performance and recovery. Work with product development teams to ensure database optimization and consistency. Lead installations, upgrades, and cross-platform migrations to modern architectures. Review deployment risks and analyze the impact on database performance and stability. Track data growth and performance trends and implement long-term capacity plans and scalability solutions. Design and build high availability and disaster recovery solutions. Perform evaluations on a regular basis to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity. Provide support and solutions in emergencies effectively and efficiently. Stay up to date with database systems enhancements and ensure the implementation of suitable best practices. Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards. Oversee the team’s tasks and provide guidance and support on a continuous basis. Ensure compliance with all applicable AML/CTF rules and regulations as required in the conduct of the role. Ensure timely completion of all relevant AML/CTF training provided by the Group. Ensure response to AML, CTF & sanctions inquiries in a timely manner.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.6 – 10 years’ experience in managing mission-critical database systems. Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019+. Advanced experience with Oracle, Postgre SQL, or MySQL is a plus Advanced knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery tools, database security, and performance optimization. Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems administration. Good command of Arabic and English. Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Capable of making timely decisions and anticipating consequences. Can identify, recommend, and implement solutions for problems. High attention to detail with a commitment to quality deliverables. Able to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
