Role Description The Sheet Metal Fabrication, Forming & Welding QC Engineer is responsible for monitoring and evaluating product quality across fabrication, forming, and welding processes. This full-time, on-site role in Al Maḩallah al Kubrá involves inspecting sheet metal components, verifying dimensional accuracy, and checking weld integrity against engineering drawings and standards. The role includes preparing and maintaining QC documentation, test reports, and nonconformance records, as well as supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions. The QC Engineer collaborates daily with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve quality issues, optimize processes, and ensure compliance with internal and external quality requirements. The role also involves implementing quality control plans, participating in audits, and recommending improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and product reliability.
Qualifications
Strong Quality Control and Quality Assurance skills focused on sheet metal fabrication, forming, and welding processes. Analytical skills for interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and data to identify trends and root causes. Quality Management capabilities, including development and application of QC procedures, checklists, and documentation. Effective Communication skills to coordinate with production, engineering, and management teams and to report findings clearly. Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field. Hands-on experience in fabrication shops or manufacturing plants, with familiarity in welding inspection and metal forming techniques. Knowledge of relevant standards and codes for welding and sheet metal (e.g., AWS, ISO or equivalent) is an advantage. Proficiency in using measurement tools and inspection equipment, and basic computer skills for reporting and data analysis. Ability to work on-site, adhere to safety protocols, and manage multiple inspections and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
