The job purpose is to identify, evaluate, develop and deliver business opportunities, throughstructured deals, which fit R-GBU’s strategic objectives, and ENGIE’s financial criteria and riskallocation.These business development opportunities will primarily focus on renewable power generationin Egypt, with a focus on wind and solar PV, arising through Greenfield development (either bids or bilateral transactions) Acquisitions RepoweringSupport to business development initiatives in Egypt and the wider AMEA operational areacould also be required from time to time.The Senior Business Developer will report to the Head of Business Development for NorthernAfrica, and will be based in Cairo, Egypt.As the project manager, the Senior Business Developer will supervise all activities and teammembers (legal, engineering, finance) to deliver the identified projects.The Business Developer will be in charge of: Developing and maintaining a current knowledge of the power sector in Egypt and thewider Northern Africa region, mapping of competitors, potential partners, key stakeholdersand regulatory evolutions in the region; Pro-actively carrying out prospection, screening/evaluating and proposing opportunities; Assessing project feasibility, preparing and presenting the project file and relateddocumentation to the relevant decision bodies within ENGIE for securing approvals in linewith the investment criteria and internal business development procedures; Contributing to develop a successful bid/proposal strategy; Leading a project team and managing all development activities performed by internal andexternal resources until the financial closing and the handover to the construction team; Leading negotiations of all project agreements (JDA, SHA, PPA, EPC and supply contracts,Finance Documentation, etc.); Leading negotiations with clients, partners, contractors, external advisors, lenders, andother counterparts; Establishing and maintaining contacts with decision makers and other relevant stakeholdersin the industry; Ensuring compliance with prevailing business development procedures and contributing toa smooth approval process: drafting, or coordinating the draft of, internal projectdocumentation (project assumptions, investment note, compliance memos…), organizing and leading project reviews, bid sign-off, return on experience, handover, … Being accountable for and applying best business development practices; Being accountable for identified business development targets and KPIs (including businessdevelopment objectives in yearly budget); Contributing to the yearly budget development plan (both CAPEX and developmentbudget); Performing transversal tasks within the business development community, includingknowledge transfer and interaction with various internal stakeholders.EducationA Master degree in Finance, Economics or EngineeringExperience And Skills 8-12 years of relevant working experience within the power generation industry; 4-6 years of business development experience, with demonstrable track record in thedevelopment and implementation of non-recourse financed IPPs; Previous experience in the energy sector in Northern Africa preferred; Knowledge of renewable power technologies in particular utility-scale wind and solar PV;
