Role Description The Customs Operation Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day customs clearance activities for import and export shipments, ensuring full compliance with local and international regulations. This full-time, on-site role in Damietta involves preparing and reviewing customs documentation, coordinating with customs authorities, terminal operators, and transport providers, and monitoring shipment status to prevent delays and additional costs. The specialist will verify tariff classifications, duties, and taxes, maintain accurate records, and update internal systems with shipment and clearance data. The role also includes communicating with clients about documentation requirements, clearance progress, and any issues, while collaborating with the operations and freight teams to optimize processes and support continuous improvement in service quality.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and trade compliance, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant laws and guidelines.
• Competence in documentation handling, including preparation, verification, and filing of invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other required customs paperwork.
• Operational skills in logistics and freight forwarding, including coordination of shipments, scheduling, and follow-up with carriers, warehouses, and port/terminal authorities.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address clearance issues, discrepancies, and delays, with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, customs officers, and internal teams, with clear, professional written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in using office and logistics-related software (e.g., MS Office, shipment tracking tools, ERP or TMS systems) and comfort working with digital documentation.
• Relevant experience in customs operations, logistics, or international trade; experience in freight forwarding or a similar environment is highly beneficial.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work on-site in Damietta, manage multiple tasks under time constraints, and maintain a high
