The Role
We are looking for a Senior Umbraco Developer on behalf of one of our high-growth clients to serve as the lead architect of their content management systems. In this role, you will take complete ownership of designing, building, and extending enterprise-level Umbraco solutions, migrating legacy instances, and transforming standard monolithic setups into modern, lightning-fast digital experience platforms.
What we are looking for:
3+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience developing with Umbraco CMS, with strong production exposure to modern versions (Umbraco 10, 12, 13, or 14+ built on . NET Core).5+ years of enterprise experience in backend development using C#, . NET Core/. NET 6+, ASP. NET MVC, and Web API. Proven experience building decoupled or headless architectures using Umbraco's Content Delivery API. Strong proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs, Graph QL, and webhook patterns. Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Entity Framework Core, and Umbraco-specific caching layers (Examine, Lucene, or custom caching providers) to keep high-traffic sites running under low latency. Solid experience deploying and managing Umbraco ecosystems in cloud-native environments, utilizing Azure Web Apps, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, and Azure Cognitive Search. Strict adherence to SOLID principles, design patterns, and secure coding standards (OWASP). Familiarity setting up automated CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops) to handle database migrations and code deployments smoothly.
Nice-to-have:
Official Umbraco Certified Master or Professional credentials. Experience with Umbraco Cloud or multi-tenant/multi-lingual localization architectures. Frontend familiarity with modern Java Script frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) for headless implementations. Background in e-commerce platforms integrated into Umbraco landscapes (e.g., Umbraco Commerce / Vendr).
Responsibilities
Architect enterprise-grade Umbraco implementations, designing custom document types, compositions, block grid editors, and custom backoffice extensions. Lead the architectural planning and execution of upgrading older Umbraco versions (v7/v8) to modern, . NET Core-based instances. Build custom Umbraco packages, controllers, and APIs to securely feed frontend platforms and exchange data with external business systems. Optimize the content editor workflow inside the backoffice, ensuring content teams can easily manage complex layouts independently. Establish and enforce strict code standards, run peer code reviews, and mentor mid-level developers on idiomatic . NET and Umbraco patterns.
