Mining Sales Support Engineer

  • Develop Cost Models: Generate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models by combining life cycle, operating, and finance costs.
  • Support Sales Managers: Assist during tenders to develop business cases that demonstrate our mining solution’s cost-effectiveness.
  • Handle Equipment Orders: Assist with machine configurations, customer quotations, and expedite the ordering of equipment.
  • Coordinate Sales/Purchase Needs: Proactively manage sales and purchase requirements for customers.
  • Customer Liaison: Expedite customer requests and liaise with colleagues for order placement, shipping arrangements, and query resolution.
  • Report Generation: Compile weekly and monthly reports on sales, stock, orders, quote pipeline, and PINS.
  • Review and Track Payments: Review monthly invoicing projections, track payment schedules, and ensure timely invoicing.
  • Project Work: Undertake special projects as required and provide general office support.
  • Maintain Records: Keep the Quotation Workup Sheet updated, create and update checklists for each order.
  • Site Visits: Visit customer mine sites to assist with application studies and benchmark equipment performance.
  • Manage Third-Party Orders: Ensure orders like fire suppression are managed and tracked effectively.

Mining Knowledge: Experience in mining operations, understanding of mining metrics and fundamentals, and knowledge in haul road and pit design.Equipment Selection: Proficiency in mining equipment selection.Excel Skills: Advanced skills in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and graphs.Communication Skills: Excellent minute-taking and summarizing abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency in English (listening, speaking, and writing).Self-Motivation & Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a self-motivated and structured approach to work.Education: A degree in Mining Engineering.
