- Developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the system environments.
- Updating the technical documentation and the team knowledge base.
- Researching and recommending innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administrations tasks.
- Mentoring and developing junior team members of system engineers as required.
- Assessing new technologies and products, applying industry best practices and methodologies to engineering and operations activities.
- Providing on-call consulting advice and technical support to external/internal customers regarding specific operational/applications issues.
- Participating in the overall secure design and performance of system/server’s environment.
- Conducting periodic safety tests of system performance, reliability, and load, assists the service desk and operations in resolving system performance issues.
- Taking lead in resolving operational issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing necessary corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.
Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university (Communications engineering or computer science background is preferred). Minimum “3 to 5” years of experience in Nix Platform (RedHat – CentOS – Ubuntu) is a must. Managing, maintaining and tuning webservers (NGINX, PHP-FPM and Apache). Managing DNS Systems (BIND and Power DNS). MySQL Administration. Preferably to Have experience in: Varnish Administration, Memcache and Redis caching. MySQL Replication, Clustering. and performance tuning. cPanel Hosting Platform. Managing, maintaining, and tuning open-source web platforms (Drupal, WordPress, Moodle and Magento). Cloud Platform Awareness: Microsoft Azure is strongly preferred.
