Job Details

  • Handle end-to-end logistics activities for import and export shipments, from booking and documentation through final delivery.

  • Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transporters, customers, suppliers, and internal departments.

  • Arrange vessel bookings, loading schedules, container release, port operations, and shipment follow-up.

  • Monitor shipment status, vessel schedules, ETD/ETA, cut-off dates, container movements, and final delivery.

  • Coordinate with factories and transporters to ensure containers are available and loaded according to the planned schedule.

  • Prepare, review, and follow up on shipping and customs documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and other required documents.

  • Coordinate customs clearance requirements for sea, air, and inland shipments.

  • Follow up on import shipments, customs clearance, transportation, storage, and final delivery.

  • Monitor and control logistics costs, including freight, transportation, customs-related costs, demurrage, detention, and storage charges.

  • Maintain accurate records of demurrage, detention, storage, and other logistics-related costs and support preventive actions to minimize unnecessary charges.

  • Coordinate with Finance regarding logistics payments, customs payments, freight payments, and other shipment-related expenses.

  • Obtain and compare freight quotations from shipping lines and freight forwarders when required.

  • Ensure all shipment documentation and operational requirements are completed within the required timelines.

  • Prepare regular logistics reports and shipment status updates for management.

  • Maintain accurate shipment records and update logistics data on a regular basis.

  • Identify operational issues and coordinate with concerned parties to resolve delays and avoid additional costs.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve logistics efficiency, cost control, and service level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in Logistics, Import, Export, Shipping, or Freight Forwarding.

  • Practical experience in handling Import and/or Export shipments, preferably with exposure to both.

  • Good knowledge of shipping lines, freight forwarders, ports, customs clearance, and inland transportation.

  • Good understanding of Incoterms and their impact on logistics responsibilities and costs.

  • Good knowledge of shipping and customs documentation and procedures.

  • Experience in handling and following up on demurrage, detention, storage, and other shipment-related charges.

  • Strong shipment follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

  • Very good command of English, especially written and business communication.

  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office; ability to prepare and maintain logistics reports and tracking sheets.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and external logistics service providers.

  • Experience with ERP systems or logistics management systems is an advantage.

  • Experience in Air Freight is an advantage.
