Announcement of the Cairo Education Directorate for a Special Education School Principal position

Purpose of the job

The holder of the position assists the school principal in managing school operations, monitoring teachers and specialists, supervising examination activities and the training, quality, and professional development unit, managing financial and administrative affairs, and ensuring the school building is ready, to guarantee the quality of the educational process according to national education standards and the regulations governing school administration positions.

Job responsibilities

Leadership and institutional supervision

  • Implement sound governance, accountability principles, and prudent use of school resources.
  • Encourage the use of technology in education and administration.

Education and learning operations

  • Distribute the study plan and curricula to the specialists.
  • Evaluate learners’ performance using approved assessment methods, tools, and systems.

Quality assurance and accreditation

  • Contribute to leading the preparation and implementation of the school improvement plan, especially in the areas of teaching and learning.
  • Coordinate the efforts of all school staff to achieve quality and obtain accreditation.

Professional development

  • Motivate teachers and specialists to develop their professional performance, and help provide professional development opportunities.
  • Participate in professional development programs in technical and leadership fields.

Community participation

  • Encourage participation in team activities, groups, and committees concerned with improving the school.
  • Stimulate voluntary initiatives that contribute to reform and development efforts within the school.

Required experience and competencies

  • Complete professional development programs in school administration as determined by the Teachers Professional Academy.
  • Obtain a qualification certificate to practice school administration positions.
  • Obtain an performance appraisal report with at least a grade of above average in the last two years.
  • Meet all the conditions and tasks contained in Decision No. 164 of 2016 and its amendments, the regulations governing the position, and Decision No. 291 of 2017 concerning special education schools.

Years of experience

The position is filled by selection from among holders of the position of Senior Teacher (A) with a seniority not less than two years, for a period of two years renewable, provided that the applicant has worked in special education schools for not less than three years according to the type of disability they wish to work with.
