Manufacturing Calibration Technician

A Calibration technician is responsible for ensuring that measuring instruments and testing equipment function accurately and reliably. This includes calibrating the manufacturing site and lab equipment and performing complex adjustments and fine-tuning instruments to meet specific standards. The role also involves adhering to industry regulations and standards, documenting calibration procedures, maintaining detailed calibration records, and collaborating effectively with other team members to ensure the accuracy of measurements.

 

Environment

Internal and external interactions i.e.: with other departments/divisions, international scope, providers, customers)

 

  • Internal: Manufacturing, quality, Engineering, & service divisions
  • External: Equipment suppliers, Health authorities, Government authorities, and Auditors.

 

 

Key responsibility

  • Implement comprehensive calibration/verification procedures for laboratory instruments, and production equipment.
  • Follow Calibration Management Plans (CMP).
  • Perform complex calibration and adjustments.
  • Analyze, interpret, and review raw data obtained during verification and calibration activities.
  • Prepare and follow up on detailed calibration reports.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

 

Academic experience required

  • Diploma or associate degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Certification in Calibration, or relevant technical areas is a plus.

 

Professional Experience Required

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in calibration.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in GMP facilities.

 

Computing Skills

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office
  • software ERP systems (SAP) are preferable
  • Familiarity in using maintenance management software systems (SAP PM or similar).
  • Familiarity in using BMS Software program

 

Personal Skills

  • Good Communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in using calibration tools and equipment.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
