Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with experience in the offset printing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth mechanical operation of printing machinery by carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement tasks to reduce downtime and maintain production quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems of offset printing machines (e.g., Heidelberg, Komori, Mitsubishi).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, misalignments, wear and tear, and ensure timely repairs.
- Oversee the installation, alignment, and commissioning of mechanical components on printing equipment.
- Replace worn machine parts such as gears, bearings, cylinders, rollers, belts, and shafts.
- Calibrate and adjust printing machine settings to maintain optimal performance and print quality.
- Collaborate with electrical and production teams to support machine availability and production schedules.
- Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, repair logs, and spare parts used.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and good engineering practices.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.2–3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance in a printing press environment, especially with offset printing machines.Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and machine alignment.Ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals, and interpret technical data.Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.Willingness to work in shifts and respond to urgent breakdowns when required.Preferred Skills :Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or Preventive Maintenance (PM) systems.Knowledge of auxiliary printing equipment (e.g., folders, cutters, stackers).Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
